National Engineers Week 2020

First celebrated in 1951, National Engineers Week is dedicated to ensuring a diverse and well-educated future engineering workforce by increasing understanding of and interest in engineering and technology careers. At Rutgers, EWeek is a chance to showcase what makes the School of Engineering great and to celebrate our community with fun events and some friendly competition.

Kick off Engineers Week by showing off your engineering pride! Wear your SoE apparel and stop by the "Pioneers of Progress" display in the Busch Student Center to add your message and grab a free coffee or a bubble tea.

Cardboard Canoe Races

Students, deans, alumni, and faculty compete to build and navigate vessels of cardboard, duct tape, and garbage bags. Refreshments and music will be provided. Come meet the Rutgers Scarlet Knight!

Students present internship experiences to a panel of industry judges. Attendees have a chance to network with industry partners and a chance to win a company site visit. Food will be served. This event is sponsored by Lockheed Martin and Phillips 66.

Hibbert is a dedicated and passionate leader, entrepreneur, and community servant that seeks to improve the lives of others by addressing challenges that affect people, collectively and individually, and supports them in reaching and achieving their goals.

Young Engineers Day

To cultivate a love of engineering at an early age, we invite K-12 schools to join us.

Volunteers NEEDED to facilitate engineering activities. Undergraduate students, graduate students, faculty, staff and alumni are welcome to sign up here.

Rube Goldberg Competition (teams of 5 people or less)

Let your inner engineer shine during the Rube Goldberg competition, where you can compete with a team to build the coolest contraption to accomplish a simple task. The winning team will receive some awesome prizes!

  • Time: 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Doors open at 4:00 p.m. Judging begins at 5:00 p.m.
