Emina Soljanin been elected to serve as an officer of the IEEE Information Theory Society. She started the term in 2017 as the second Vice President, and is expected to ascend to the Presidency of the society in 2019.
Information Theory encompasses the processing, transmission, storage, and use of information, and the foundations of the communication process, and the IEEE Information Theory Society is the pre-eminent community developing the mathematical underpinnings of information technology for the benefit of humanity.
