Rutgers Day was held on Saturday, April 29th in the Engineering Quad. ECE had a large tent just behind the SoE Building and many people showed up…fortunately the weather after the early-morning storm cooperated throughout the joyful event.

Professor Dario Pompili was in charge of the ECE Department's Rutgers Day planning. Dr. Pompili said "A special thank goes to our faculty, Hana Godrich, Waheed Bajwa, Janne Lindqvist, Yanyong Zhang, Anand Sarwate, Vishal M. Patel, and Maryam Mehri Dehnavi , and their students — Wanshu (Wayne) Sun and his capstone group, Xing Di, Mahdi Abavisani, Subu, Xiaoyi Tang, Feng Rong, Zhe Chang, Jingxuan Chen, Rong Zhang, Zhenhua Jia, Chris Mitropoulosand his team mates, Hafiz Imtiaz, Nicholas Frost and his group, and Poornima Suresh and her capstone group — to present their ongoing research and capstone projects, which showed a very good diversity in the topics and areas ECE encompasses. Let me also thank my capstoneers — Allen Tung, Calvin Li, and Anthony Wong — to volunteer and present their underwater adaptive sampling project.

All the poster presentations and demos were excellent and very helpful for potential students as well as for their families to learn about the academic programs and culture at the ECE Department.

The IEEE student organization led by Niral Shah as well as the Electronics Club engaged effectively with our young visitors and their families.

Last, but not least, the ECE activities carried out during this Rutgers Day would have not been possible without our staff often working behind the scenes; specifically, this year my appreciation goes to John Scafidi and Arletta Hoscilowicz for helping out and doing everything needed to support our event, and to Ora Titus for interfacing with SoE in the past two months."
