The computational domain represented by the
global array/grid can be decomposed & distributed across a set of
processing nodes using different schemes; the most appropriate scheme
depends on the application characteristics and the hardware architecture
and is dictated by concerns such as locality and load-balancing.
The distribution criterion addresses decomposition and decomposition
support provided by the system.
