• COURSE OBJECTIVES:
  This course will address current issues and practices in software engineering with an emphasis on the software development process. Practical application of these techniques will be emphasized. Topics covered include software life-cycles, project management, requirements engineering, analysis models, design techniques, testing and verification, reliability, CASE tools, and formal techniques. There will be an emphasis this semester on the Unified Software Development Process and the Unified Modeling Language (UML).

• GRADING POLICY (Tentative):
  

  Project reports (total 3):	15% first two, 20% third
  Project presentations & demos (total 2):	15% each
  Quizzes (approx 8)	20%
  We may have a midterm !!!
  All quizzes will be surprise. If you have take less than 5 quizes your grade will be reduced by one letter!!!

• PROJECT:
  The course will require a final project which will be worked on by groups of about 5 students. The project will require the design and development of a web-based service. Each group will submit a proposal by 02/05. The project development will follow the OOSE methodology discussed in class. A set of intermediate and final deliverables will be defined and demonstrated to the class. Intermediate project reports will also be required at each stage. The final project grade will be based on the successful completion and demonstration of project. Projects details and schedule will be posted soon.
