Performance Analysis of IEEE 802.11

Two key issues to consider:

1. How to compute q_k = f(n)? Derive a formula and discuss any assumptions you make.
2. Disucss the validity of the Poisson assumption for interarrival time. What are the conditions for its correctness?

Derive the expected delay per packet.

You can also use a network simulator to verify your results.

Each group will give a 1/2 hour PowerPoint presentation in Room SEC-117 on December 19, 2003, between 7 - 10 p.m.
