Dr. Parker has research interests in the experiment and theory of optoelectronics especially the matter-field interactions and quantum optics, and fabrication science for opto-electronic components. The research includes design, modeling and theory, fabrication, experiment and testing.

The research into the matter-field interaction encompasses three main areas: (1) the generation, control and detection of quantum optical signals (with sub-shot noise levels), (2) the transfer of stochastic information from light to matter and back to light, (3) light activated processes for molecular and carrier dynamics (bonding and dissolution in wet etching).
