ECE Welcomes New Faculty Dr. Jaeseok Jeon
Dr. Jaeseok Jeon will join the ECE faculty in Fall 2011 as an Assistant Professor.
Dr. Jeon received the B.A.Sc. degree, with First-Class Honours, in Electronics Engineering from Simon Fraser University, Burnaby, BC, Canada, in 2007, and the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, CA, in 2011. He was a co-recipient of the 2011 IEEE ISSCC Jack Raper Award for Outstanding Technology Directions, and he was awarded the 2006 NSERC-USRA award. In 2006, Dr. Jeon was an electronics designer at Kodak’s Graphic Communications Group, where he worked on precision electro-mechanical / optical devices for next-generation thermal heads.
Dr. Jeon's research activities are presently in nano-electro-mechanical relay devices and technology for energy-efficient electronics, neural relay devices for efficient design and implementation of neuromorphic systems, and advanced materials and process technology for energy-harvesting devices.
