Associate Research Professor
Jaroslaw Zola received M.S. degree in Computer Science from Czestochowa University of Technology (Poland) and Ph.D degree from Grenoble Institute of Technology (France) in 2001 and 2005, respectively. In 2012 he joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Rutgers Discovery Informatics Institute. Prior to joining Rutgers Dr. Zola was a faculty at Iowa State University. His research activities are focused on applications of high performance computing in bioinformatics and computational biology. He developed several popular bioinformatics tools, including Parallel TCoffee, TINGe and CLOSET.
Dr. Zola is a founding co-chair of Workshop on Parallel Computational Biology (PBC), a biennial event devoted to the latest research in high performance computational biology. He is a senior member of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE)
