FAQ

How can I check the status of my application?

All students who provide a valid email address on their online application will receive an immediate email response confirming its receipt. You may check the status of your application at Your Rutgers Status screen. You will need your nine-digit ID number or your assigned student identification number and your PIN to access this secure site. If you do not have access to the Internet, please call (732) 445-4636 and student assistants will access your status screen for you.

I have received my GED. Which requirements apply to me?

If you have a GED you must be certain to provide the following documents in support of your application: 1. An official report of your GED examination scores. 2. Transcripts from any high school you attended regardless of the length of enrollment. 3. Transcripts from any college you have attended. Please note that courses taken in math, science, and foreign language at another college may be used to satisfy entrance requirements.

Undergraduate Admission

Please note that admissions to the School of Engineering do not take place at the departmental level.

Where do I get verification of being a full time student?

To get verification of being a full time student, contact the Office of Verifications in ASB, Room 200L at (732) 445-7000. Students can also request full time enrollment via the Registrar's website. You can find more information on transcripts and verification  here.

ECE students selected for the Grace Hopper Scholarship

ECE PhD students Melissa Romanus and Ashley Zebrowski were selected for the Grace Hopper Scholarship, which supports their attendance at the Grace Hopper Conference, http://gracehopper.org/2013/ the premier conference for Women in Computing. The dates are October 2-5, 2013 in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

GHC is the largest technical conference for women in computing and results in collaborative proposals, networking, and mentoring for junior women and increased visibility for contributions of women in computing.

Prof. R. Yates promoted to Distinguished Professor

On June 20, 2013, the Board of Governors approved the promotion or Roy Yates to Distinguished Professor, effective July 1, 2013.     Professor Roy Yates received the B.S.E. degree in 1983 from Princeton and the S.M. and Ph.D. degrees in 1986 and 1990 from MIT, all in Electrical Engineering. He joined ECE Department at Rutgers in 1990 as an Assistant Professor. He was promoted to Associate Professor in 1996 and Professor in 2002.

ECE student receives travel grant from IEEE SPAWC Conference

ECE student Dionysios Kalogerias received a $1,500 travel grant from the 2013 IEEE Int. Workshop on Signal Processing Advances in Wireless Communications (SPAWC) , held in Darmstadt Germany, where he presented the paper: "On the Coherence Properties of Random Euclidean Distance Matrices," by D. Kalogerias and A. Petropulu.

ECE Travel Award Winners of the March 2013 Cycle


ECE Research Excellence
In support of travel for the student author of a paper accepted for publication at a research conference
the winners are:

ECE PhD students Huiqing Fu and Yulong Yang received travel stipends to attend the 2013 Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium (PETS) held in July in Bloomington, Indiana.

Both students received a $500 stipend, which is sponsored by Microsoft. PETS is a top symposium in privacy, and is held this the 13th time.
